We have a new student council!

Philip, the student council retiring president introduces the new student council :

“Hello IIMBA:

It is with great honor that I announce to you the result of the 2009 Student Council Elections. We had a great turnout for the election and it was really great to see so many people enthusiastic about being a part of the Student Council. So without further ado, here are your elections results:

So, be sure to congratulate and thank these people when you see them as they will be the ones taking leadership roles in serving the IIMBA community. I am personally very excited because the next few months will be a time when both years teams will be working together to minimize knowledge lost in the transition of power in an effort to keep the forward momentum going. I cannot wait to see the ways the next years team will build off of the foundation we have laid.

The elected student council president, Brian Bremner, adds :

“IIMBA Classmates,

It is with great enthusiasm that I accept the position of student council president. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and encouragement. I look forward to working with all of you in an effort to make your experience at NCKU as valuable and as comfortable as possible.

I know that with the wonderful team we have established, we will be able to continue to follow in the footsteps of the outgoing council. We will continue to work with the well-laid plans they have set out and achieved. We will also set many new goals for the betterment of the student body and the program.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone, the student council meets every Tuesday night in the second floor classroom. I encourage anyone who is interested in participating or learning more about the student council to attend our meetings.

With increased co-operation we can work together to reach our mutually beneficial goals. With the help of everyone we will be able to increase the level of communication, unity, and professionalism within our great program.

Welcome!

I’ve personally witnessed the amazing efforts and passion invested by the 2008 student council members both in and outside the program to try and make our program and university better for us and future students.
